MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
MAY 2, 2024
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, JOHN LITTLE AND ANDREW IRWIN. ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND
FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
M. REED MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 4-18-2024. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 5-2-2024 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – BILL LUCAS, SR – AGENT FOR OTARMA INSURANCE
MR. LUCAS REVIEWED THE RENEWAL POLICY FOR 2024 -2025 AND THE COVERAGES
THAT ARE NEW AND UPDATED AND HOW THEY APPLY TO THE TOWNSHIP. QUESTIONS
BY THE BOARD WERE ANSWERED AND INFORMATION REGARDING FAITHFUL
PERFORMANCE OF DUTY COVERAGE WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE FISCAL OFFICER.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – NUMEROUS ROADS HAVE BEEN BROOM SWEPT AND A CULVERT
WAS REPLACED ON FORT RD. SLAG IN PLACE OF # 411 LIMESTONE HAS BEEN PLACED IN
POTHOLES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND COMPLETED A CLEANUP OF A CULVERT
REPLACEMENT ON FARGO RD. MOWING OF CEMETARIES BEING DONE AS NECESSARY.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE VACATION LEAVE
REQUEST FOR TOM WITTS ON 4-24-2024 FOR 8 HOURS. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED REPORTED THAT THE ODOT SIGNS ARE STILL IN PRODUCTION AND
NOTIFICATION WILL BE SENT WHEN THE SIGNS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT. THE
SWEEPING OF THE ROADS IS GOOD. DUST CONTROL APPLICATION IS NEARING AND
DISCUSSED VARIOUS ROADS FOR APPLICATION.
A. IRWIN ALSO INQUIRED ABOUT THE START OF THE DUST CONTROL APPLICATION AND
IF PREPARATIONS ARE READY AND COMPLETED. WILL DRAFT A LETTER TO THE
CARROLL COUNTY HEALTH DEPT, TO COURTNEY GROSSMAN, REGARDING THE
CLEANUP OF A NUISANCE HOUSE / PROPERTY ON THE DOWELL PROPERTY AT THE
INTERSECTION OF HOLLY AND FARGO RDS. NEED TO CONTACT TUSCOAT REGARDING
THE INFORMATION AND PRICING FOR THE BID FOR CRACK FILLING ON IMPERIAL RD.
J. LITTLE REVIEWED A QUOTE FROM SEAL MASTER ON THE IMPERIAL RD CRACK
FILLING. IF THE TOWNSHIP DOES THE WORK, WILL NEED TO RENT EQUIPMENT AND
WITH MATERIAL WILL BE AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $4700.00. PIKE TWP WILL ASSIST
WITH THE LABOR. WILL CHECK ON DIFFERENT GRADES OF EMULSION AND THE COSTS
TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE USED FOR DUST CONTROL.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 8:10 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY M. REED. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
