ROSE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 5, 2020
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JOHN LITTLE, JONATHAN WARD AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING.ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – LAURA SPENCER – HONEY RD RESIDENT – SPOKE WITH THE BOARD ABOUT MOVING A CROSS CULVERT, CLEANING DITCHES AND CHANGING THE WATER DRAINAGE NEAR THEIR RESIDENCE AND SHE OUTLINED WHAT ITEMS THEY ARE GOING TO COMPLETE FOR THE PROJECT. THE BOARD AGREED AND WILL PLAN THE WORK AS SOON AS WEATHER AND TIME PERMITS.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – LIMESTONE IS NEEDED ON MOST ALL ROADS IN THE TOWNSHIP AND APPLICATION HAS BEGUN. DEVELOPED A WORK LIST FOR TRIMMING TREES ALONG ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAYS ON VARIOUS ROADS AND HEITZ CEMETARY TO BE DONE BY TREE FELLERS AND ASSISTED BY THE TOWNSHIP.
ROADMAN R. RENNIE STATED THAT GRANADA RD IS IN NEED OF DITCHING AND GRADING.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – REVIEWED THE CREDIT CARD STATMENT WITH THE BOARD. STATED THAT THE NEW WIRELESS PHONE AND INTERNET SYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND IS OPERATIONAL. THE TOWNSHIP RECORDS FOR 2018 AND 2019 HAVE BEEN SENT FOR AUDIT.REVIEWED OTHER CORRESPONDENCE AND NOTICES.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO DONATE THE SURPLUS DELL LASER PRINTER TO THE MAGNOLIA POLICE DEPARTMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. WARD STATED THAT HE HAS RECENTLY DRIVEN THE TOWNSHIP ROADS TO INSPECT FOR NEEDED WORK ITEMS. ALSO GAVE AN UPDATE ON THE APPLICATION TO THE OHIO EMA FOR STORM DAMAGES IN 2019 IN THE TOWNSHIP.
J. LITTLE REPORTED THAT THE BANK OF MAGNOLIA LOAN FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE TANKER TRUCK WILL BE AT A 4 % INTEREST RATE. ALSO TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE IS TO HAVE THE STEEL TANK CLEANED AND LINED. PRESENTED AN ESTIMATE FROM IRWIN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT FOR $9500.00 PER MOWING FOR MOWING ALL THE TOWNSHIP ROADSIDES.
J. OWENS WILL GIVE AN UPDATE ON THE ANNUAL HEALTH DISTRICT MEETING AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 8:00 PM ON A MOTION BY J. WARD AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE.ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
