MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
JULY 7, 2022
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JOHN LITTLE AND MICHAEL REED. ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING OF 6-16-2022. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 7-7-2022 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – DUST CONTROL HAS BEEN APPLIED ON NUMEROUS ROADS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN DRAGGED WITH THE TRUCK OR TRACTOR. THE 2007 PETERBILT TANKER HAD THE SERPENTINE BELT AND PULLEY REPLACED. THE ROLLER ON THE SMAAZ MOWER NEEDS REPAIRED AND ALL OF THE CEMETARIES HAVE BEEN MOWED.
J. LITTLE AND R. RENNIE MET WITH MEL LUTE OF BAKER, DUBLIKAR, LEGAL FIRM, ON 6-21-2022 REGARDING PENDING LITIGATION.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING LEAVE FOR THOMAS WITTS : 7-1-2022 – 8 HOURS FUNERAL LEAVE AND 7-21 THROUGH 7-22-2022 – 16 HOURS PERSONAL LEAVE. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – THE HEARING FOR THE 2023 ROSE TOWNSHIP BUDGET WILL BE HELD DURING THE 7-21-2022 MEETING AT 7:30 PM. CEMETARY GRANTS ARE AGAIN AVAILABLE FROM THE STATE OF OHIO.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO INCREASE THE IRS STANDARD MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATE TO $0.625 PER MILE AS PER ANNOUNCEMENT 2022-13. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 11-22 M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY TO LEVY A TAX IN EXCESS OF THE TEN MILL LIMITATION AS A RENEWAL OF AN EXISTING LEVY FOR THE ROAD DISTRICT II LEVY OF 2.0 MILLS FOR FIVE (5) YEARS COMMENCING IN 2023 AT THE 11-8-2022 GENERAL ELECTION. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED REPORTED THE RECENT DUST CONTROL APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN FAVORABLE.
J. LITTLE NOTED THAT McINTOSH OIL HAS PENN SUPRESS, A DUST CONTROL PRODUCT SIMILAR TO THE ONE PURCHASED FROM D & D EMULSIONS, AT A COST OF $5.75/GAL. FURTHER INFORMATION AND COSTS ARE NEEDED FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. NEW DUST CONTROL SIGNS (20) HAVE BEEN RECEIVED TO REPLACE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN STOLEN. REGARDING THE REPAIRS TO THE MASOLEUM IN FARBER-KNOTTS CEMETARY TRENTON LEGGETT AND NEOPS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED TO OBTAIN SUGGESTIONS FOR REPAIR AND THEIR COSTS.
A COMPLAINT WAS RECEIVED FROM A HOPE RD RESIDENT REGARDING A TRACKHOE, FROM THE Wm MILLER CO., CAUSING DAMAGE WHILE TRAVELLING ON HOPE AND IMPERIAL ROADS. THE COMPANY WAS ADVISED NOT TO DO THIS AGAIN AND MINIMAL DAMAGE WAS NOTED ON THE ROADS.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 7:40 PM ON A MOTION BY M. REED AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
