MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
JULY 20, 2023
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN –
RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 7-6-2023. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 7-20-2023 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – HAVE BEEN FILLING POTHOLES ON VARIOUS ROADS
WITH #411 LIMESTONE AND CLEANED OUT A CULVERT ON FLINT RD. THE ROADS FOR
CHIP & SEAL ARE BEING PREPARED USING THE ROAD GRADER WHERE NEEDED.
ADDITIONAL #411 LIMESTONE WILL BE ORDERED FOR INVENTORY.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – MOWING CONTINUES IN THE TOWNSHIP CEMETARIES. RECEIVED
A QUESTION FROM ROD CARINS, GRANADA RD, ABOUT THE PLACEMENT OF A 12 INCH
CULVERT ALONG HIS PROPERTY.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – REPORTED THAT THE 2024 PROPOSED ROSE TWP BUDGET
HAS BEEN FORWARDED TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING LEAVE
REQUEST FOR TOM WITTS – 7-20-2023 – 8 HOURS – PERSONAL LEAVE. ALL IN FAVOR,
MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING
REALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE GENERAL FUND – FROM 1000-110-599-0000 – $3283.90 TO
1000-760-740-0000. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED. THIS IS FOR THE TOWNSHIP’S SHARE
OF THE HYDRAULIC THUMB PURCHASE FOR THE CASE 580 BACKHOE ALONG WITH THE
OHIO BUREAU OF WORKER’S COMPENSATION SAFETY GRANT.
M. REED REPORTED THAT THE ROAD REPAIRS ON HALO RD WERE GOOD. PRESENTED
FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE CDL PROGRAM OFFERED THROUGH LTAP /
ODOT.
CEMETARY REPORT – DISCUSSION ABOUT THE POSSIBLE INSTALLATION OF A CULVERT
AT UNION VALLEY CEMERTARY ALONG BARK RD. MIKE BRYAN OF THE CO ENGINEER’S
OFFICE WILL BE CONTACTED REGARDING THIS.
J. LITTLE AND R. RENNIE ON 7-16-2023, FILED A REPORT WITH THE CARROLL CO
SHERRIF’S OFFICE ABOUT THE THEFT OF GASOLINE FROM THE TOWNSHIP. THE PERSON
COMMITING THE THEFT WAS RECORDED ON VIDEO AND IT WAS SHARED ON SOCIAL
MEDIA.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 7:55 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY M. REED. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
