MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
JULY 17, 2014
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JOSEPH OWENS, JOHN LITTLE AND JONATHAN WARD. FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING AS PRESENTED. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUESTS – DON NOCERA – GRANADA RD RESIDENT
MIKE GEISER – HALO RD RESIDENT
MR. NOCERA HAD QUESTIONS FOR THE BOARD ABOUT THE PROPOSED BRINE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR TOWNSHIP ROADS AND IT WAS EXPLAINED HOW THE TOWNSHIP MUST PROCEED UNDER OHIO DEPT NATURAL RESOURCES GUIDELINES.
MR. GEISER INQUIRED ABOUT THE REASONING FOR THE CHANGE IN BOARD MEETING DATES. IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT THE NEW DATE SEQUENCE WAS MORE CONSISTENT WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS MEETING DATES. HIS QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BRINE APPLICATION WERE ALSO ADDRESSED WITH MR. NOCERA’S.
RESOLUTION 20-14 J. OWENS MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO REQUEST THE COUNTY AUDITOR FOR AN ADVANCE OF TAXES COLLECTED FROM THE SECOND HALF 2014 REAL ESTATE TAX SETTLEMENT FOR THE AMOUNT AVAILABLE. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
THE BOARD NOTED THAT THEY WERE SUCCESSFUL IN PURCHASING THE REMAX 4800 ROAD MILLING MACHINE FOR A FINAL BID OF $11,600.00 WITH A SEPARATE SHIPPING COST OF $1669.09.
IN RELATED ROAD MATTERS THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE ROAD RENOVATION PROGRAM ALONG WITH OTHER ROAD ISSUES OF THE WIDENED DITCH ON IMPERIAL RD, THE REPAIR OF THE CULVERT ON HARTWOOD RD,THE DITCH ON HARVEST RD AND A TREE ON GRANADA RD THAT WAS CUT DOWN.
IT WAS NOTED THAT AVERAGE JOE’S TREE SERVICE CUT DOWN A DANGER TREE ON HOLLY RD FOR $250.00.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE VACATION LEAVE FOR MICHAEL NOBLE, ROADMAN, FOR EIGHT (8) HOURS ON 7-3-2014. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING TRANSFER IN THE GENERAL FUND OF THE APPROPRIATION BUDGET OF $6,350.00 FROM 1000-110-599-0000 TO 1000-760-740-0000. ALL IN FAVOR MOTION PASSED.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 8:35 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY J. WARD. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED/
