MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 16, 2017
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JONATHAN WARD, JOHN LITTLE AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – JULIE WARD – IRISH RD RESIDENT
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – ON FARGO RD A CULVERT NEAR THE EDWARDS FARM NEEDS FIXED. REPLACED THE CLUTCH SPRING ON THE NEW HOLLAND T6050 TRACTOR. DISCUSSED OTHER ROAD CONDITIONS AND AREAS THAT NEED TO BE CHECKED. NOTED THAT ON DEAD END HERITAGE SOME #4 LIMESTONE IS NEEDED IN VARIOUS SOFT SPOTS.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – HAS ASSEMBLED INFORMATION ON THE HISTORY OF THE 1.0 MILL FIRE AND 2.69 MILL ROAD LEVIES. J. LITTLE STATED THAT HE WOULD COMPLETE THE U.S. CENSUS BOUNDARY REPORT. FISCAL OFFICER WILL SEND IN THE 2016 BRINE APPLICATION REPORT TO ODNR THAT NO BRINE WAS APPLIED TO TOWNSHIP ROADS. FURTHER INFORMATION IS STILL NEEDED FOR THE MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS REPORT REQUEST. CONTINUING TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION OF INTERNET ON THE TOWNSHIP COMPUTER TO SEND UPDATES TO THE OHIO CHECKBOOK.COM FOR 2016 DATA.
J. WARD REPORTED THAT HE WILL MEET WITH CHRIS KIEHLTO MARK THE TOWNSHIP BOUNDARY LINES WITH HARRISON TOWNSHIP ON FRESNO AND IVORY ROADS. ALSO NOTED THAT HIGHVIEW CIRCLE IN THE CLAYBROOKE ALLOTMENT IS A TOWNSHIP ROAD. FOUND IN OHIO REVISED CODE UPDATES CONCERNING NUISANCES SUCH AS VEHICLES THAT ARE LOCATED IN THE TOWNSHIP’S RIGHT-OF-WAY. THE RECORDS RETENTION PROGRAM WAS STARTED AFTER 1975 AND THE PROCESS OF RECORDS NOT REQUIRED TO KEEP FOR THE TOWNSHIP HAS STARTED. EXCEPTIONS ARE THOSE ITEMS THAT WOULD BE OF INTEREST FOR LOCAL HISTORICAL PURPOSES. THE FINAL ITEM WAS ON THE PORTION OF THE LAW THAT APPLIES TO ROADS ON NON-MAINTAINED STATUS AS TO WHAT IS AND IS NOT ALLOWABLE.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE SENDING OF FORMS RC-1 AND RC-3 FOR THE DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE RECORDS TO THE OHIO HISTORICAL CONNECTION. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
THE TOWNSHIP WAS NOTIFIED BY ODOT THAT BEGINNING JUNE 5, 2017, THAT SR 542 WILL BE CLOSED FOR ONE WEEK NEAR THE SOUTH INTERSECTION OF HARTWOOD RD FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A CULVERT. ALSO NOTED THAT ON FLINT RD LOGGERS HAD LEFT A MUDDY MESS ON THE ROAD.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 8:20 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. WARD. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
