MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 20, 2023
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, JOHN LITTLE AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND
FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 4-6-2023 AS CORRECTED. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 4-20-2023 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – SHANE MILLIGAN – HARTWOOD RD RESIDENT
MR. MILLIGAN HAD QUESTIONS FOR THE BOARD REGARDING DUST CONTROL AND
PLACING A SLOW CHILDREN SIGN ON HARTWOOD RD. THE BOARD REPLIED THAT
SEVERAL OPTIONS FOR DUST CONTROL ARE BEING CONSIDERED FOR 2023 AND WOULD
NEED TO CONTACT THE COUNTY PROSECUTOR ABOUT THE SIGN. IT WAS NOTED THAT
PRIOR CONTACT WITH THE PROSECUTOR WAS NOT FAVORABLE FOR THE TOWNSHIP TO
PLACE A SIGN OF THIS NATURE ON TOWNSHIP ROADS.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – UNION VALLEY AND HARMONY CEMETARIES HAVE BEEN
MOWED AND THE CLEANUP OF FALL AND WINTER GRAVE DECORATIONS CONTINUES.
HAVE BEEN ASSITING PIKE TWP WITH THE INSTALLATION OF CULVERTS WITH DROP
BOXES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THE 2014 F-550 CONTINUES TO COME ON AND OFF
AND WILL HAVE THE CODES SCANNED TO CHECK FOR ANY ISSUES.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – NOTED THAT BILL LUCAS, OTARMA INSURANCE AGENT,
WILL BE AT THE 5-4-2023 MEETING FOR THE ANNUAL INSURANCE REVIEW WITH THE
BOARD. REVIEWED VARIOUS OTHER CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE BOARD.
J. OWENS SET 4-27-2023 AT 4:30 PM TO MEET WITH CHUCK WITHEY OF HALO RD TO VIEW
AND DISCUSS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE GRAVEL PILING UP AGAINST HIS FENCE.
M. REED REPORTED ON THE PROGRESS OF THE ODOT SIGN GRANT APPLICATION AND IS
WORKING WITH TRUSTEE CHRIS ROTUNDO FROM BROWN TWP ON THE GRANT. HAD
QUESTION FROM GRANADA RD AND HARVEST RD RESIDENTS ABOUT 2023 DUST
CONTROL.
J. LITTLE WILL SECURE A COPY OF A DUST CONTROL SPECIFICATION BID SHEET FROM
MARK PAHANISH OF PIKE TWP. DISCUSSION CONTINUED ABOUT SEVERAL DUST
CONTROL PROGRAMS THAT COULD BE USED FOR 2023. NEW REPLACEMENT ROAD SIGNS
HAVE BEEN ORDERED. WILL CHECK WITH ODOT ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE SPEED
STUDIES FOR SEVERAL TOWNSHIP ROADS.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO HIRE SHAWN DARR, OF STALLION RD, AS
A PART-TIME ROAD WORKER AT 2-3 DAYS PER WEEK AT $17.00 PER HOUR. TO ASSIST THE
ROADMAN WHILE THE ROAD SUPERVIOR T. WITTS IS ON MEDICAL LEAVE. ALL IN FAVOR,
MOTION PASSED.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 8:10 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
