MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
MAY 7, 2020
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JONATHAN WARD AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVIOR’S REPORT – CULVERTS WILL BE REPLACED ON THUNDER AND HOLLY ROADS. NEW TIRES HAVE BEEN PUT ON THE NEW HOLLAND T6050 TRACTOR AND CASE 580 BACKHOE BY H & M TIRE. WILL CHECK ABOUT THE TREES OVER THE ROADWAY ON FARGO RD NEAR PHIL PAVICK’S HOUSE ALONG WITH SOME ON OTHER ROADS THAT NEED CUT IN THE RIGHT-OF- WAY USING A BUCKET TRUCK.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – AT THE NORTH END OF UNION VALLEY CEMETARTY A SPRING IS SEEPING OUT OF THE HILL MAKING THE AREA VERY WET.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – PRESENTED THE INFORMATIONAND UPDATES RECEIVED FROM BILL LUCAS, SR OF ANDERSON-CAMPBELL INSURANCE ON THE 2020-2021 OTRAMA INSURANCE RENEWAL FOR THE TOWNSHIP. THE OHIO BUREAU OF WORKER’S COMPENSATION WILL BE SENDING A PREMIUM REFUND OF $1829.00 TO THE TOWNSHIP. REVIEWED THE LETTER RECEIVED FROM THE COUNTY AUDITOR OF THE REDUCTION OF FUNDS TO BE RECIEVED ARE PROJECTED TO BE DOWN POSSIBLY 20 % FOR THE BALANCE OF 2020. REGULAR TOWNSHIP WORK WILL BE MAINTAINED AS USUAL, WITH LARGE PROJECTS MAY BE REDUCED IN SIZE OR DONE WHEN ADEQUATE FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO APPROVE THE PERSONAL LEAVE FOR RICHARD RENNIE OF EIGHT (8) HOURS ON 4-27-2020. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. WARD REPORTED HE RECEIVED A REQUEST FROM JASON ADOLPH OF HOLLY RD ABOUT A HORSE CROSSING SIGN. THE RESIDENT WILL NEED TO PURCHASE THE SIGN AND THE TOWNSHIP WILL INSTALL THE SIGN.RECEIVED A COMPLAINT FROM A RESIDENT ABOUT THE SPEEDING ON HERITAGE RD BY EMPLOYEES OF HILLTOP ENERGY ON BRASS RD. THE COMPANY WILL BE CONTACTED CONCERNING THIS MATTER.
DAVE KEAN OF HIGHVIEW CIRCLE INQUIRED ABOUT THE TIMING OF POSTING BOARD MEETING MINUTES TO THE TOWNSHIP WEBSITE. THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS BOARD MEETING CAN NOT BE POSTED UNTIL THEY ARE APPROVED BY THE BOARD AT THE NEXT REGULARLY HELD MEETING THEN THEY BECOME OFFICIAL. THEN AFTER APPROVAL AND AS SOON AS FEASIBLE THE MINUTES WILL BE POSTED TO THE WEBSITE.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO SELL THE USED TOTES THAT THE DUST CONTROL MATERIAL CAME IN ON A AS IS BASIS FOR $45.00 EACH. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 8:00 PM ON A MOTION BY J. WARD AND SECONDED BY J. OWENS. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
