MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 17, 2022
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – MICHAEL REED, JOSEPH OWENS AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING OF 1-20-2022. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORTS FOR 2-3-2022 AND 2-17-2022 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.

SHAWN DARR – STALLION RD RESIDENT
CHIEF NICHOLSON PRESENTED THE 2021 YEARLY FIRE REPORT TO THE BOARD. DISCUSSION AND QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD WERE ANSWERED. THE DEPARTMENT WAS THANKED FOR THEIR SERVICE TO THE TOWNSHIP AND ITS RESIDENTS.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – 161 TONS OF # 57 LIMESTONE HAS BEEN DELIVERED AND IS BEING APPLIED TO ROADS WHERE NEEDED. ADDITIONAL SLAG HAS BEEN ORDERED AND THE BOARD INSTRUCTED THAT AN ADDITIONAL 200 TONS # 57 AND 100 TONS #4 LIMESTONE BE ORDERED. NEW LED LIGHT BULBS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IN THE GARAGE AND OFFICE OF THE TOWNSHIP BUILDING.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – TWO CULVERTS ON HOLLY RD NEED REPLACED AND KEEPING WATCH FOR OTHER CULVERTS FOR REPLACEENTAS NEEDED. THE 2014 F-550 HAS TWO ITEMS TO KEEP WATCH ON WITH THE FUEL GUAGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – REPORTED THAT THE 2022 ROAD LEVY FROM THE CARROLL CO COMMISSIONERS IS $10,416.16. THE ROAD BOND FROM McKAY-GROSS LUMBER FOR IRISH RD HAS BEEN RECEIVED. REVIEWED THE INFORMATION REGARDING THE CARROLL CO. DEMOLITION GRANT PROGRAM. THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR 2021 IS COMPLETE AND RECORDS ARE BEING PREPARED FOR THE 2020-2021 AUDIT.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FUNERAL LEAVE FOR RICHARD RENNIE FOR 1-31-2022 FOR EIGHT (8) HOURS. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 9-22 J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING FIRE CONTRACTS FOR 2022 – MOHAWK VALLEY JOINT FIRE DISTRICT – $4200.00 AND DELLROY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT – $7000.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED RECEIVED A COMPLIMENT FROM AN IVORY RD RESIDENT FOR GRIT BEING APPLIED TO THE ROAD TO ASSIST THE RESIDENT IN GOOD ACCESS TO THE ROAD.
J. OWENS MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE A RIGHT-OF-WAY PERMIT FOR FRONTIER TELEPHONE FOR ACCESS ALONG THE EARLSTON PROPERTY ON GRANITE RD. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE REPORTED FROM THE 2022 OHIO TOWNSHIP ASSN ANNUAL CONFERENCE THAT THE ARPA FUNDS, WITH USING THE STANDARD ALLOWANCE, THAT THE FUNDS ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE USED TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT OR VEHICLES.
J. OWENS REPORTED RECEIVING GOOD COMMENTS REGARDING SNOW PLOWING OF TOWNSHIP ROADS DURING THE RECENT SNOW / ICE WEATHER EVENTS.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 8:00 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
