MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 4, 2019
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JONATHAN WARD, JOHN LITTLE AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – HAS CONTACTED MAGNOLIA VOL FIRE DEPT TO CLEAN OUT 5 (FIVE) DIFFERENT CULVERTS. THE WORK OF CLEANING DITHCES AND CULVERT ON HOPE RD, SOUTH OF BRASS RD, HAS BEEN COMPLETED. WORK HAS BEEN DONE TO THE DITCH AND CULVERT ON GRANADA RD ALONG THE CARINS AND KEMP PROPERTIES. TREES HAVE BEEN CUT AS NEEDED IN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY ON SEVERAL ROADS. EDGES HAVE BEEN ORDERED FOR THE ROAD DRAG AND THE BUSH HOG BLADE. THE ROAD GRADER AND THE CASE 895 TRACTOR ARE BEING SERVICED .
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – THE AUDITOR’S MEETING WITH THE CARROLL CO TWP ASSN IS ON 4-11-2019 AT THE GOLDEN AGE RETREAT. HAD THE BOARD REVIEW THE RECENT CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. WILL HAVE ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE READ AND SIGN THE TOWNSHIP’S CREDIT CARD POLICY. THE ROAD SUPERVISOR AND ROADMAN NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE LTAP TRAINING MEETING ON 5-22-2019 FOR GRAVEL ROADS MAINTENANCE AT ODOT IN NEW PHILADELPHIA.
J. LITTLE WILL CHECK WITH THE COUNTY SURVEYOR TO SCHEDULE LAYING OUT THE GRID FOR GRAVES IN THE NEW SECTION OF UNION VALLEY CEMETARY. DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD VARIOUS OPTIONS FOR THE 2019 DUST CONTROL PROGRAM.
J. OWENS WILL CONTACT ODOT IN REGARDS THE CULVERT AT SR 542 AND INTERSECTION OF FLINT RD NEAR THE LEYDA PROPERTY. THE DRIVEWAY , GARAGE ENTRANCES AND YARD AREA NEED TO BE GRADED, REPAIRED AND STONE PLACED AS NEEDED.
J. WARD IS IN CONTACT WITH STATE SENATOR HOAGLAND IN REGARDS TO PROPERTY PARCEL SPLITS AFTER A ROAD IS PLACED ON NON-MAINTAINED STATUS ALONG WITH OTHER SECTIONS OF THE OHIP REVISED CODE THAT ARE IN NEED OF UPDATES TO CLARIFY ISSUES WITH NON-MAINTAINED ROADS. STATE REPRESENTATIVE JONES WILL ALSO BE CONTACTED ON THIS MATTER.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 7:50 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED..
