MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 19, 2019
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JOHN LITTLE, JONATHAN WARD AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT – WERE PRESENTED AND APPROVED FOR PAYMENT.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – MIKE REPELLA – CANDIDATE FOR CARROLL CO COMMON PLEAS COURT JUDGE
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – REPORTED THAT THE WATER WELL IS NOT PUMPING ANY WATER. HE IS CONTINUING TO LOCATE CULVERTS ON TOWNSHIP ROADS THAT ARE IN NEED OF OPENING AND CLEANING OUT. THE TRUSTESS AND T. WITTS WILL TRAVEL TOWNSHIP ROADS TO LIST CULVERTS TO CLEAN AND DITCHES TO OPEN. HAS BEEN WORKING ON THE MOUNTING OF THE DITCHER HEAD ON THE BOOM ASSEMBLY AND STILL NEEDS SOME HOSES AND FITTINGS. THE BOARD STATED THAT IF TREES IN THE TOWNSHIP RIGHT-OF-WAY ARE IN IMMINENT DANGER OF FALLING ON ANY TOWNSHIP ROAD THEY SHALL BE REMOVED.
J. WARD MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED THAT IF SERVICE IS NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR OF THE WATER WELL THAT IT SHALL BE SECURED. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – THE HEARINGS FOR THE ADDITIONAL $5.00 MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE TAX ARE 4-19-2018 AND 4-26-2018 AS LISTED IN THE PUBLIC NOTICE IN THE FREE PRESS STANDARD. THE CARROLL CO TOWNSHIP ASSN MEETING IS 4-26-2018 AND A PUBLIC RECORDS TRAINING MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR 4-20-2018.
J. WARD, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, NOTED THAT NO PERSONS WERE PRESENT TO SPEAK IN REGARDS TO THE ADDITIONAL $5.00 MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE TAX.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO PURCHASE A 1996 INTERNATIONAL 4900 DUMP TRUCK FROM SHINGLETON CUSTOM HOMES FOR $8000.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. OWENS MOVED AND J. WARD SECONDED TO SECURE A LOAN FROM THE BANK OF MAGNOLIA OF NOT MORE THAN $25,000.00 FOR THE 1996 INTERNATIONAL DUMP TRUCK, A SNOWPLOW AND USED SPREADER BOX, FROM THE 1992 FORD 8000 TRUCK, AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY ITEMS FOR UPFIT TO THE 1996 INTERNATIONAL DUMP TRUCK. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO SELL THE 1992 FORD 8000 DUMP TRUCK WITH THE SNOW PLOW FOR $3500.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
THE TRUSTESS WILL COMPLETE THE BALANCE OF TOWNSHIP ROAD ASSESSEMENT ON 4-25-2018 BEGINNING AT 5:00 PM.
J. OWENS REPORTED THAT THE CARROLL CO HEALTH DEPT BOARD HAS SECURED TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS WITH ONE BEING FORMER COUNTY COMMISSIONER TOM WHITE. THE FIRST QUARTER 2018 FIRE REPORT FROM THE MOWHAWK VALLERY FIRE DEPT HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY E-MAIL.
J. WARD IS STILL NEGOTIATING PRICING ON DUST CONTROL PRODUCTS WITH MIDWEST INDUSTRIES FOR 2018.
THE BOARD NOTED THAT THEY HAVE REACHED AGREEMENT WITH SHECKLER’S EXCAVATING FOR PAYMENT OF $2700.00 FOR REPAIR TO COTTONWOOD RD THAT OCCURRED DURING SCRAP REMOVAL FROM A PROPERTY ON THE ROAD.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 9:00 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. WARD. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
