MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 19, 2024
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, ANDREW IRWIN AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS
AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
A. IRWIN MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 9-5-2024. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AD A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 9-19-2024 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUEST – LUKE ALLISON – HIGHVIEW CIRCLE RESIDENT – INQUIRED ABOUT THE ROAD
WORKER POSITION.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – NOTED THAT SOME REPAIRS ARE NEEDED ON THE
PETERBILT TANKER. HAVE BEEN WEEDEATING AND CLEANING AROUND CULVERTS AND
BRIDGES. WILL CHECK WITH THE SANDY VALLEY BUS GARAGE ABOUT A BUS
TURNAROUND AT THE GARY GREATHOUSE PROPERTY. THE ROAD DRAG IS AT TRUSHEL
WELDING FOR REPAIR AND THE SMAAZ MOWER IS ALSO BEING REPAIRED. JUNE RD
NEAR DON’S MEATS NEEDS ASPHALT TO FIX LOW AREAS AND THE HILL GOING WEST
NEEDS DITCHED. HALO RD BETWEEN BARK RD AND CLAY RD NEEDS REBUILT WITH
DITCHING, CULVERTS CHECKED, GRINDING, BERMING, LIMESTONE AND RESHAPING.
LIMESTONE IS TO BE ORDERED FOR THE PROJECT.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – REVIEWED RECENT CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING LEAVE
REQUEST FOR TOM WITTS – SICK LEAVE – 10-2-2024 – 8 HOURS, VACATION LEAVE 10-4-
2024 – 8 HOURS AND 10-11-2024 – 8 HOURS. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
A. IRWIN MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING
REALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR REPAYMENT OF OVER
DEDUCTION OF CDL REPAYMENT : FROM 1000-110-599-0000 $175.00 TO 1000-410-190-0000 –
$175.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 15-24 M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE A
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS AND RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET
COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX LEVIES AND CERTIFYING THEM
TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
A. IRWIN WILL CONTACT TOM FRY FROM THE CARROLLTON BUS GARAGE REGARDING
SEVERAL CONCERNS ALONG THEIR BUS ROUTES IN THE TOWNSHIP. REPORTED THAT
KEN FRASE COMPLIMENTED ABOUT THE BUS TURNAROUND AT HIS RESIDENCE.
J. LITTLE GAVE AN UPDATE REGARDING THE OHIO BWC SAFETY GRANT APPLICATION
AND NOTED THAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WAS NEEDED.
RESOLUTION 16-24 J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE HIRING
OF LUKE ALLISON FOR THE FULL-TIME ROAD WORKER POSITION AT $19.50 / HOUR WITH
A 90 DAY PROBATION PERIOD. START DATE WILL BE EFFECTIVE 9-30-2024. ALL IN FAVOR,
MOTION PASSED.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 8:50 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY A. IRWIN. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
