MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
JUNE 20, 2024
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, ANDREW IRWIN AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS,
ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
M. REED MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROOM THE
MEETING OF 6-6-2024. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 6-20-2024 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
GUESTS – ALAN WEIR – JUNE RD RESIDENT
NATE KAHLER – HARTWOOD RD RESIDENT
MR. WEIR INQUIRED ABOUT REPAIR TO THE CHIP & SEAL ALONG THE ROAD EDGE
LEADING INTO HIS DRIVEWAY. TRUSTEES WILL VIEW THE AREA TO DETERMINE WHAT
REPAIR IS NEEDED.
MR. KAHLER EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT WATER CROSSING THE ROAD DURING HEAVY
RAINFALL AND ENTERING HIS PROPERTY AND BUILDING. QUESTIONS WERE ASKED
ABOUT A CROSS CULVERT HELPING TO DIVERT THE WATER FLOW AND WHERE WOULD
BE THE BEST PLACE TO INSTALL THE CULVERT. ALSO HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COST
OF CHIP & SEAL AND THE DUST BOND THAT IS APPLLIED TO TOWNSHIP ROADS.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE BUDGET HEARING FOR
THE 2025 BUDGET WILL BE HELD ON 7-18-2024 AT 7:30 PM DURING THE REGULAR BOARD
MEETING. DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING THE POSITIVE PAY PROGRAM BEING
OFFERED FROM THE BANK OF MAGNOLIA FOR THE TOWNSHIP’S NOW CHECKING
ACCOUNT. THE NEXT CARROLL CO TWP ASSN. MEETING IS 7-24 AT MALVERN PARK.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING REQUESTS
FOR VACATION LEAVE FOR RICHARD RENNIE AS FOLLOWS: JULY 18-19, 2 DAYS-16 HOURS,
AUGUST 7-9, 3 DAYS-24 HOURS AND NOVEMBER 21, 22, AND 25, 3 DAYS-24 HOURS. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – THE ROADSIDE MOWING OF ROADS IN THE WEST
PORTION OF THE TOWNSHIP ARE NEARLY COMPLETED. THE 2014 F-550 WILL BE SENT TO
RIGHT REPAIR FOR REAR BRAKES AND REAR SEAL. PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO
REPAIR THE BRAKES ON THE NEW HOLLAND T6050 TRACTOR. THE TAR BUGGY WILL BE
USED FOR PATCHING AS NEEDED. ANOTHER TANK LOAD OF DUST BOND WILL BE
PICKED UP TO COMPLETE DUST CONTROL ON VARIOUS ROADS.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – THE CDL TRAINING HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND NEW LICENSE
APPLIED FOR. HAVE BEEN APPLYING DUST CONTROL ON VARIOUS ROADS AS NEEDED.
M. REED HAS BEEN CHECKING THE DUST CONTROL APPLICATION AND NOTED THAT
THERE ARE POTHOLES THAT NEED REPAIRED.
J. LITTLE GAVE AN UPDATE ABOUT GETTING A DESK / FILING SYSTEM FOR THE
TOWNSHIP OFFICE AND STILL THE NEED FURTHER INVESTIGATION.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 7:40 PM ON A MOTION BY A. IRWIN AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
