Although once a part of Stark County, Rose Township joined 13 other townships in Carroll County in 1832 when the county was formed. The township was named for the many wild roses that grew in this area. On the western edge of the county, Rose Township has more than 1500 residents and 33 miles of township roads. The township is governed by three elected trustees, one elected fiscal officer and is maintained by two appointed employees.
