ROSE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 4, 2022
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, JOSEPH OWENS AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS,
ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
M. REED MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 7-21-2022. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 8-4-2022 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – BERMING HAS BEEN DONE ON FARGO RD, # 411
LIMESTONE SPREAD ON IRISH RD AND THE TAR BUGGY WILL BE USED ON HALO RD.
THREE LOADS OF COLD PATCH WERE USED FOR POTHOLE REPAIR ON VARIOUS ROADS
AS NEEDED. WILL ORDER # 1 SLAG TO FILL THE SHED FOR WINTER USE ON TOWNSHIP
ROADS.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – CONTINUING TO KEEP ALL OF THE CEMETARIES MOWED AND
TRIMMED. THE 2014 F-550 HAS BEEN MAKING A NOISE AND WILL KEEP A WATCH ON IT.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – REPORTED THAT THE CARROLL CO HEALTH DISTRICT WILL
BE HOLDING PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING(S) REGARDING THE OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF SEWAGE SYSTEMS THAT ARE COVERED UNDER THE OHIO
ADMINISTRATIVE CODE. THE AED THAT WAS ORDERED FOR THE MAGNOLIA VOL FIRE
DEPT, USING CARES ACT FUNDS, HAS BEEN SHIPPED. IN THE PROCESS OF ESTABLISHING
TAX EXEMPT ACCOUNTS AT RURAL KING AND TRACTOR SUPPLY FOR THE TOWNSHIP.
NOTED THAT THE CARROLL CO TWP ASSN FISH FRY IS ON 8-25-2022.
J. OWENS MOVED AND M. REED APPROVED THE FOLLOWING LEAVE : RICHARD RENNIE –
16 HOURS PERSONAL LEAVE FOR 8-18-2022 THROUGH 8-19-2022. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION
PASSED.
CEMETARY REPORT – J. LITTLE REPORTED THAT HE HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY QUOTES
FOR THE MASOLEUM REPAIR AT THE FARBER-KNOTTS CEMETARY AND WILL CONTINUE
TO SEEK FURTHER QUOTES.
J. LITTLE NOTED THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN UPDATE FOR THE SOFTWARE FOR THE
TOWNSHIP’S WEBSITE AND THAT THE MEETING MINUTES HAVE BEEN UPDATED AND
ARE CURRENT. WILL CHECK WITH THE MWCD ABOUT REROUTING TRAFFIC TO THE
ATWOOD LAKE PARK AND CAMPGROUND TO NOT TRAVEL OVER HOLLY RD WHICH HAS
SEVERAL HILLS AND HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS TRAFFIC PROBLEMS RECENTLY AND IN
THE PAST FOR TRAVELERS.
M. REED WILL SECURE A NEW JACK FOR THE ROAD DRAG.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 7:35 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY M. REED. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
