MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 21, 2024
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES –
MICHAEL REED, ANDREW IRWIN AND JOHN LITTLE. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS,
ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE
MEETING OF 3-7-2024. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE
ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 3-21-2024 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR
PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – THE 2014 F-550 TRUCK WILL HAVE AN INJECTOR LINE TO
THE DEF TANK REPLACED. NEEDED FILTERS HAVE BEEN ORDERED FROM NAPA DURING
THE ANNUAL SALE. NEED TO HAVE LARGE CULVERTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF FORT /
BARK RD AND ON FARGO RD INSPECTED BY THE CARROLL CO ENGINEER’S ROAD DEPT.
THERE ARE A FEW HOLES IN THE ASPHALT ON IMPERIAL RD AND THE CRACKS NEED
FILLED. A CHECK WILL BE MADE TO SEARCH FOR VENDORS WHO CAN DO FILLING AND
SEALING OF CRACKS.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – HAS NOW SECURED HIS CDL PERMIT AND IN SEVERAL WEEKS AN
APPOINTMENT CAN BE MADE TO SCHEDULE HIS CDL CLASSROOM AND DRIVING
TRAINING TO COMPLETE HIS CDL REQUIREMENTS.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – SHARED WITH THE BOARD VARIOUS CORRESPONDENCE
RECEIVED SINCE THE LAST BOARD MEETING.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND M. REED SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING
REALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR ELECTION EXPENSES RELATED
TO THE 2024 1 ST HALF REAL ESTATE TAX SETTLEMENT : FROM 1000-110-599-0000 – $200.00
TO 1000-110-315-0000 – $200.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 11-24 M. REED MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE
FOLLOWING 2024 FIRE CONTRACTS: MAGNOLIA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT – $27,900.00,
DELLROY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT – $9900.00 AND MOHAWK VALLEY JOINT FIRE DISTRICT
- $7200.00. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND A. IRWIN SECONDED TO APPROVE THE 911 FINAL PLAN TOWNSHIP
REVIEW AND TO SUBMIT THE REVIEW FORM FROM THE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES TO THE
COUNTY 911 COORDINATOR. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
M. REED REPORTED THAT THE SIGNS FOR THE ODOT SIGN GRANT ARE NOW IN
PRODUCTION.
THE BOARD HELD DISCUSSION ON WHAT ROADS COULD BE GROUND AND REBUILT IN
2024 TO PLAN FOR ROADS TO BE CHIPPED AND SEALED IN 2025.
J. LITTLE NOTED THAT THE APPLICATION FOR THE BWC SAFETY GRANT IS NEAR
COMPLETION AND HOPES TO HAVE IT SUBMITTED NEXT WEEK. THIS GRANT IS TO
COVER THE PURCHASE AND ASSEMBLY OF ITEMS FOR A UNIT TO USE TO INSTALL THE
SIGN POSTS FROM THE ODOT SIGN GRANT THROUGHOUT THE TOWNSHIP. THE GRANT
WILL COVER 75% OF THE COST OF THE POST INSTALLATION UNIT.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT 8:10 PM ON A MOTION BY J. LITTLE AND SECONDED BY M. REED. ALL IN
FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
