MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
JULY 15, 2021
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT : TRUSTEES – JOHN LITTLE AND JOSEPH OWENS. ROAD SUPERVISOR – TOM WITTS, ROADMAN – RICHARD RENNIE AND FISCAL OFFICER – BRUCE DOWNES.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING OF 7-1-2021. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BILLS – SEE ATTACHED PAYMENT LISTING REPORT FOR 7-15-2021 – THAT WERE PRESENTED FOR PAYMENT. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT – THE VALVE BODY ON BOOM MOWER IS LEAKING. CULVERT WITH A DROP BOX WILL BE INSTALLED ON GRANDADA RD PRIOR TO THE GRINDING OF GRANADA RD.
ROADMAN’S REPORT – CEMETARIES ARE BEING MOWED WEEKLY AND ARE LOOKING GOOD. AT THE NORTH END OF UNION VALLEY CEMETARY IS A WET SPOT THAT COULD BE TILED TO REMOVE THE WATER.
CEMETARY SEXTON – J & S SERVICES HAVE REGROUND MORE OF THE TREE ROOTS AND POSSIBLY MAY HAVE MORE TO GRIND AFTER CLEANUP OF THE GRINDINGS. SEVERAL FOUNDATIONS FOR GRAVE MARKERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IN HARMONY CEMETARY.
FISCAL OFFICER’S REPORT – A LETTER FROM KAREN GRAY OF FORT RD WAS RECEIVED THANKING THE TOWNSHIP FOR THE CARE THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN IN MAINTAINING FORT RD AND UNION VALLEY CEMETARY.
ONE BID WAS RECEIVED FOR THE SALE OF THE 1996 EXMARK LAZER Z ZERO TURN MOWER. J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO ACCEPT THE BID OF $251.00 FROM SHAWN DARR OF STALLION RD. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
J. LITTLE MOVED AND J. OWENS SECONDED TO APPROVE THE SICK LEAVE FOR TOM WITTS FROM 7-14-2021 THROUGH 7-15-2021 (16 HOURS). ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 14-21 J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED A RESOLUTION DETERMINING TO PROCEED WITH THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE QUESTION OF LEVYING A TAX IN EXCESS OF THE TEN-MILL LIMITATION FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRE LEVY OF 1.0 MILLS FOR THE BENEFIT OF FIRE PROTECTION FOR TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS AS PER THE OHIO REVISED CODE 5705.19 (I) FOR A FIVE YEAR PERIOD. ALL VOTED YEA IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
RESOLUTION 15-21 J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LTTLE SECONDED A RESOLUTION DETERMINING TO PROCEED WITH THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE QUESTION OF LEVYING A TAX IN EXCESS OF THE TEN-MILL LIMITATIONS FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE ROAD DISTRICT III LEVY OF 2.69 MILLS FOR THE BENEFIT OF TOWNSHIP ROADS AS PER THE OHIO REVISED CODE 5705.19 (G), FOR A FIVE YEAR PERIOD. ALL VOTED YEA IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
THE 2022 BUDGET HEARING WAS HELD AT 7:30 PM. J. OWENS MOVED AND J. LITTLE SECONDED TO APPROVE THE 2022 BUDGET FOR ROSE TOWNSHIP AS PRESENTED BY THE FISCAL OFFICER AND TO FORWARD THE BUDGET TO THE CARROLL CO AUDITOR. ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
AS THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 7:40 PM ON A MOTION BY J. OWENS AND SECONDED BY J. LITTLE ALL IN FAVOR, MOTION PASSED.
